Bread Pudding from the Heart of Tennessee

Ingredients

1/2 cup raisins

5 slices bread cut into strips

1/2 stick margarine or butter melted, 3/4 cup sugar

2 eggs

1 teaspoon vanilla

2 cups milk

Directions

Place the raisins in bottom of a greased 1-quart casserole.

Dip bread slices in melted butter and put on top of raisins.

Mix sugar, eggs, vanilla, and milk and beat well. Pour over bread and raisins.

Place casserole in pan of hot water and bake for 1 hour at 350 degrees.

This recipe can be doubled but if so, bake for 90 minutes, or until done. Keep checking.
